Former Disney queen Miley Cyrus is the latest celebrity to voice support for the Occupy Wall Street movement, as she posted a video of her song "Liberty Walk" set to protest footage last week. Now, Occupiers have challenged Miley to join the front lines. Might Miley occupy?
Also: Usher's ex-wife allegedly believes her husband is too druggy to raise children, Jennifer Lopez will soon make a lot of cash with little to no effort, and Beyonce's pregnancy pants are bold. Very bold.
• Last week, Miley Cyrus posted a remix of her song "Liberty Walk" to YouTube with the dedication, "This is Dedicated to the thousands of people who are standing up for what they believe in."
Unfortunately, Cyrus' support offering was eclipsed by another video: The infamous "stoner" speech she gave at her recent birthday party. Still, one of the OWS' most vocal figures, Occupied Wall Street Journal co-editor Priscilla Grim, told TMZ that she thinks the video "rocks," but would like to see Miley protest in person: “I double dog dare [her] to fight on the front line of economic civil rights at LA City Hall."
It's a double dog dare. She means business.
Miley hasn't yet responded to the invitation, but were she actually to join the protests, the paparazzi would be all up in OWS, too, as would a fair number of Cyrus' underage fans. Here's to revolutionaries who don't have driver's licenses.
• Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster recently filed a request for the R&B singer to submit to drug tests, claiming, "I believe he gets high. And if he doesn't then he'd take the drug test, correct?"
Foster pointed to Usher's strange behavior at a Germany concert last January, when the singer broke into tears mid-song and apologized to the crowd for being unable to perform. Check out the video at left.
Usher has reportedly refused to submit to any tests, meaning his custody battle for his two sons is about to get much uglier.
• Kate Hudson and her rocker fiancĂ©, Matt Bellamy, are fans of sweat pants, puffer vests and camera phone shots.
• The strapless chiffon dress Amy Winehouse wore on the cover of her 2006 album Back to Black was sold for a staggering $67,000 at auction this week, with proceeds benefiting the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Designed by Disaya, the dress now belongs to Foundation Museo de la Moda in Chile.
• Lady Gaga plans to get sauced and check out hot ladies in their underwear, having tweeted Wednesday, "At some point today i'll be drunk watching finale of Victoria'sSecretFashionShow on repeat. Models in panties dancing to BORN THIS WAY #yes."
But isn't it going to be hard not hating the models for being born that way?
• BeyoncĂ©'s maternity wardrobe is never boring. The pregnant performer drew attention away from her belly with a pair of electric blue leggings in New York on Tuesday.
• Jennifer Lopez's ubiquity will extend for at least another year, as she's reportedly preparing to release a greatest hits album in 2012. Producer Kuk Harrell told MTV News, "I just got the call a week ago that the greatest-hits album for Jennifer Lopez is coming up. Now I'm just waiting for them to put on the schedule [and] let me know what songs we're actually cutting and stuff like that."
